TL;DR: I am anti-Microsoft word, anti-Microsoft excel, anti-What's App. If you force me to use them, I will escape, for sure!
When I moved to senior high school, I attended a school in Jombang City, which is still in East Java, Indonesia. I studied natural science and Islam in an Islamic boarding school called SMA Darul Ulum 2 - BPPT, stayed in Pondok Tinggi for two years (2002-2004), and then I moved to Asrama nDalem Selatan (Ardales) in the third year (2004-2005), still in Darul Ulum. After I spent three years there, I got an offer to continue my studies at ITS, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya City, my mother's hometown.
After finishing a bachelor's degree in ITS (2009), I continued to a master's degree in the same laboratory at the same university (2010-2012). At the end of my master's degree, I got a scholarship to do my master's research at Kumamoto University, Japan, for one year, but I did it for six months. After finishing my master's research at Kumamoto University, I got a job in a metal parts company in Kameyama-shi, Japan, a city in Mie prefecture. It is a neighbor of Suzuka, home of Honda, and about 40 minutes by train from Nagoya, Aichi-ken, the home of Toyota. I lived there for two years and three months (2012/04 ~ 2014/06).
In 2014 I came back to be a member of VibrasticLab, ITS Surabaya, Indonesia. From 2017 to 2021, I am with Akagi-lab to do my Ph.D. at JAIST, Japan. Now (2021 ~ ), I am with Artificial Intelligence Research Center, AIST Tsukuba, Japan. According to the result below, I am a logistician (2017, 2021/4)
2017 & 2021 results: Logician |
2019 result: Architect |
My job now is
In my spare time, I write for fun, hack my own laptop, and do traveling/hiking/trekking.
Why black/dark?
When you come to this site, the dominant colors are black and dark. Why do I use black and dark colors? Black will save energy on your PC (and, of course, my PC, too). Let's save energy; let's use black. Save energy, and be safe for our eyes.
Learn. Share. Inspire. Contribute.
I have learned a lot from this life, including the internet. Through this blog, I share what I have learned. Last but not least, I hope this blog is my contribution to inspiring others. However small it is, it should contribute to others. Therefore, by writing this blog, I want to inspire and contribute to my community.
/home/bagustris
I named this blog bagustris@/home with the tagline "move dynamically". Why? Because "home" is my default location in Unix/Linux-based OS, and I moved dynamically there and here, in other places. The "/" is a root, combined with "home", which creates "/home" followed by the username. You can check it by a command in the terminal "pwd". So, I named it bagustris @ "/home". Previously, I named this blog "QuranicScience" because most posts are about Islam and science, which I learned about in the past. Currently, I post about all fields related to my life. It is dynamic depending on my mood, my job, and my interests. The main topics include but are not limited to Quranic science, blogging/writing, information technology, traveling, my philosophy, and life hacks.
about this blog
I made this blog incidentally while waiting for the airplane in Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II airport, Palembang, Indonesia, in 2007. My friend from the Informatics department shows me how interesting the blog is. You can read my first post written on a public internet airport here. As an achievement, this blog was awarded as favorite #1 in the Muslim blog contest for the article "anti korupsi: belajar kejujuran dari pengemudi taksi (Indonesian language)".Why black/dark?

Blogging Style
I named my blogging style 3p+1i: three points + one image. I explained it here. My post will be arranged in three parts: introduction, main content, and conclusion, along with one supporting image minimally. It is simple writing. However, sometimes, it is hard to make details short; elsewhere, some text doesn't need supporting images.Writing Frequency and Subscription
I planned to write weekly, about 4 posts for each month or 48 24 posts per year (writing is hard!). The new article usually (but not always) appears on Sunday morning. Currently, I don't use any tool to let you know when a new article is posted. The best thing you can do to follow my publication is to follow me on Twitter: https:/twitter.com/btatmaja. That Twitter account will automatically post my new article from this blog.

DISCLAIMER
I started to write on this blog in the 2nd grade of my bachelor's degree. Some of my writing may be (scientifically) wrong and/or unproven. I still keep those writing for learning purposes. Moreover, I didn't include references in my early writings, which is bad behavior; some of the writings were copied from somewhere, and now the original source has gone, which makes it challenging to include the original source later. Finally, these writings are mainly intended for me; hence, you may need something else.Biography
